Textile Slitting & Rerolling
Wide rolls slit to whatever width you need, up to 3100mm across. Fabric, foam, fibre, PVC and fibreglass, cut clean and rerolled to your specification
What it is

Slitting converts a wide master roll into narrower rolls at the widths your production actually consumes.
The commercial case is the operation it removes downstream.
Cutting strips from full-width goods on your own floor means an extra handling step, an operator, offcut waste, and edges that vary enough to cause problems at the machine.
Slit rolls arrive at the width you specified, with a consistent edge, ready to feed straight into production.
Binding and edge tape: Narrow strips slit to a set width from full-width goods, supplied on the roll so they feed continuously rather than being cut and joined.
Production-width rolls: Material slit to panel or component width so it goes straight to the cutting table or the sewing line without an intermediate operation.
Roll diameter management: Oversized incoming rolls rerolled to a diameter your equipment and operators can handle. Heavy master rolls are slow to change and a manual handling issue.
Waste reduction: Buying wide and slitting to your own widths is generally cheaper per metre than buying narrow. Nesting your widths across the master roll reduces the offcut you pay for and then throw away.
Applications
Slit width range: 10mm–3,100mm
Tolerance: ±0.5mm on request, ±1mm standard
Substrates: woven and knit textiles, nonwovens, foam, film, PVC, fibreglass
Roll core: 3" cardboard, custom cores on request
Max roll diameter: dependent on substrate, confirm at quote stage
Turnaround: from delivery, typically 3–5 working days
Specs
Material Behavior
Foam-backed goods: low tension, avoids edge curl.
PVC and film: matched speed and tension, avoids heat welding at the edge.
Fibreglass and composites: slower pass, dedicated blade, avoids delamination.
Bias-cut and stretch fabrics: reduced tension, keeps roll true to width.
Exact settings are confirmed against a sample before a production run — send us the substrate and we'll advise cut behaviour.
